The Open Program is designed for students new to the Merce Cunningham Studio and for those who want to take classes on a flexible basis. Students may enroll at any time during the year and come as often as they wish. Please view the class schedule.

Enrollment

NEW Single classes are available for all students. Class cards for a series of ten or twenty classes are valid for a five or ten-week period respectively, and are non-transferable. There is no minimum attendance requirement in the Open Program. Students living outside of New York may choose to purchase a class card valid for one year at a slightly higher class rate.

Financial Aid
All students are eligible for a limited number of merit scholarships awarded through auditions that are conducted quarterly. A limited number of work scholarships are also available. Students awarded either merit or work scholarships are required to then transfer to the Professional Training Program or the International Program. Open Program Rates

The Merce Cunningham Studio classes are taught by Mary Lisa Burns, Janet Charleston, June Finch, Hristoula Harakas, Patricia Lent, Jeffrey Moen, Banu Ogan, Yukie Okuyama, Daniel Squire, Robert Swinston, Carol Teitelbaum,

and members of the Merce Cunningham Dance Company.
